So Is This A Mode Two Or Three Repair?
First spark plug, following instructions in the TSB, and Murphy's law. Porcelan snapped leaving the porcelain and the electrode shield. Looks like a mode three repair from the TSB. Should I get the OTC or Lisle kit or does anyone have any other suggestions?
The strange thing is the new plugs were available last they were changed according to the service records. The dealership used the older style though when they replaced them.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Bought the Lisle kit the part that pushes the ceramic I could hear doing its job. Then I got to the left hand threaded part with the shaft. It was initially a little tight to turn but kept going with it. Now it just spins and spins in the shaft. I put the nut on to pull it out and nothing. Tried the left hand assembly again and it just spins. Doesn't go into the shaft and no resistance. So bummed right now. Need a beer...

What I find weird is why the hell would the Ford guys put in spark plugs that they know are problematic and that Ford stopped using? That is really really strange that they would do that. Too bad you didnt see that earlier when the dealer did it, I'd have told them not to use that even if it cost me more for the other plugs... I am surprised they even carried these still

Oh man that is a bummer. Hopefully one of the fellas here will have some advice on the issue for you if they ran into the problem your having, I am sure someone has amongst the FTE community has been there.

In any event the engineer at Lisle called me at 9pm last night after I called early in the day to report my problem. Awesome customer service I guess.
However, he determined the tool wasn't going to work on this instance and told me to drill out the porcelain with a 1/4 masonry bit attached to a die grinder. Then tap the empty electrode shield and use the Lisle puller to yank it.
The whole thing makes me very nervous. Lol gotta get the porcelain out somehow. If I can remove the porcelain I could use the NAPA tap and puller with the vinyl cap. Sticking a masonry bit in scares me.
Any good Ford mechanics in the New Haven, CT area. Happy to pay well. Have had to cancel a camping trip because of this of this mess.
