Rebuilding 1949 F5
Well, started to breakdown the F5 which is in good shape but the motor is completely seized up. Pulled the clip, pulled the motor, put it on a good stand and started rebuilding the engine. I am not interested in creating a hot rod and my preference is simply to put the truck back into working order. I have read Mr. Oddo's book cover to cover and have benefited from the wisdom on this forum (for example pulling the entire clip and then the motor). So on the engine what do you recommend that I do at a minimum? I have already rebuilt the starter and generator (working great with 6V battery).
On the truck itself it was used a fire truck of some sort in Southern Illinois. It is red (and so is the engine block). All of the body parts are in good shape but have this quite unique pitted patina that you see in old cars in junk yards.
Thanks in advance for your help as always.

While you are getting it sorted out and running, I'd also suggest learning about its wheels. They are probably the widowmaker variety. Here's some old threads about them. BTW, welcome to FTE. Glad to have another big truck getting saved. Stu
