Daughters 71 F250 Camper Special Resto Progress....
Folks,
truck finally came back from body / paint guy. My daughter chose a candy apple red YIKES! Turned out pretty nice really. Now the real fun starts and im sure NOW my questions to all you helpful folks start as well
Going with a 390 build up and the C6 but a little beefed up.
Truck came with factory discs and a dana 60.
Question 1
for the dana 60, as the truck has been sitting for 15 years before I bought it. Waht should be dont to the rear end? Complete rebuild or jsut seals or??
thanks and hope you like the pics.

Welp its all about the cashola flowola right LOL!!
Her plans are thus,
Interior: We have an upholstery guy who will
Redo the original bench seat with charcoal grey
with same for carpeting. He will be making custom door panels and visors with her name embroidered into the seat and the Visor (her idea oh well) ahahhahahah
Looking at dolphin gauges and mount to replace factory gauge cluster.
Motor: rebuild a 390 with plenty of UMPH and shine.
New wiring harness
Tranny: Rebuild the C^ with shift kit etc
Dana60 rear: rebuild/freshen up
Suspension: plan to take all apart the front end and replace ALL bushings etc.
New windshield/back window.

Im planning a complete rebuild on my '68 and plan to go through the rear end completly. Get everything checked and if good will probably reuse gears and axles.
As for my '72 I am just having the bearing checked and replaced if needed. Guess it comes down to funds. If you can rebuild now I say do it. If you don't mind possibly doing it later than just make sure it's safe.
And for your truck. Not a huge fan of red on any vehicle but your's is looking real good in that red.

I had restored a 74 f350 years ago. It had the in cab tank and I was never too thrilled with the idea. I found a 74 f100 that I bought for parts that didn't have it. So I got rid of it when switching to the cleaner cab. I'd seen a big rubber plug on one once to fill the filler hole. Does the job but not as clean for sure.
