hey guys i heard from sombody the other day that putting oil additives in our oil isnt good. i just changed my oil and added 2 qts of lucas in with it. will this affect anything? do i have to do another oil change.
Did you use the full synthetic lucas or the regular?
The synthetic is ok to use, but the regular stuff will foam up and make the injectors run crappy.
No good way around it except to change the oil again. Personally I don't run any oil additives, only fuel stuff.
It won't hurt anything to keep it in there, just might not run the best. I put lucas in mine when I first got it cause I didn't know better. If you don't want to change the oil again just run it and maybe change it sooner than you usually would.
just a reminder of how quickly you should change your oil.
The additives in our oils keep them from getting air bubbles.
as you can see. lucas.... screws that up.
Schaefers is great oil too, and lucas is screwing it up.
that sucks! well i gues ill have to change it again once i get the tranny back in it......would that cause it no mabe miss on one injector because not that i think of it after i changed the oil it ran a little crappy and then just before i pulled the tranny it started to miss all the time right is soon as i started it up
By the time I get back home Talyn I'll have 10K on my Schaefers oil. I'll let you know what the lab test results are. Its starting to idle a little rough now at 7,700 miles though.
