Question Tie rod project '96 F150 4x2

I got all the parts to replace inner and outer tie rod ends plus the drag link.

What is the best way to go at it?

My first thought was to disconnect both outer tie rod ends from the steering knuckles(?)(Not sure if that is what that part is called) and then disconnecting the drag link from the pitman arm. Then I could remove the entire assembly and set up the new one with matching measurements. This should get me in the ballpark but I know that I will have to have it re-aligned after I'm done. Is it possible to do it like that or should I disassemble and reassemble it piece by piece? I couldn't feel any play in the ball joints but I'm not really sure I'm checking it correctly.

Probably should pick up a Haynes or Chilton manual but the budget is getting kinda tight on this project.

Besides who needs a manual when I've got this forum, Right?

I did mine piece by piece. Count the number of threads stick out of each clamp, and reassemble accordingly, then take it for an alignment ASAP
