Put it on a pallet and slide it in the back.

Seriously--you ever done any engine or trans work? R&R an engine?

Your question seems to indicate you are already over your head with this project.

no the coffee remark was for the guy with the rude response. i do beleive you need to get a hold of some sbf motor mounts. i would measure the perches to see if those holding the big six are the right width. don't hold me to it but they might work. like i said though measure thats your best bet. sorry for the confusion on my coffe joke, but i have read a few of that guys remarks to other peoples post and they always seem to sound negative.

No coffee, just Diet Coke.

Read the OP. "...do I have to change anything...."

Does that sound like someone with a handle on an engine change?

There are lots of posts like that here where people have no idea what they are getting in to, and some idea that switching to a completely different engine is simply a bolt in.

OK, so I admit I could have asked the question a different way, and I apologize to the OP for being jerk-like.

Hey, I gave you a link....

What automatic you thinking of? IF you want OD, AOD's from '88-93 are the better pick and have the proper bell pattern for your engine.

Good luck with it.

What, where I told her not to cuss?

You're both cranky newcomers, and I don't see much contribution in your posts yet. And hey, look who else is Mr. Negative in a thread:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...-302-swap.html

So enjoy the forums, and try to use a capital letter at the beginning of your sentences, it will make your posts easier to read.

THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE,

AOD bolt pattern will fit a 289*/302, 351w, or 240/300, since you said "I think i am going to keep the 300 in it,and put an auto, trans in it...".
(*'65 1/2 and later 6 bolt bell.)

Now you know.

Advice to people I don't know? That's everyone. You came here and asked "do I have to change anything to put a 289 in the 66 van."

What, you just wanted people you know to answer? And you were so hot on it, and now you're going to keep the six?

I apologized to both you fellows, but that's not enough. Another cranky newcomer.

Good luck with your van.

OK, so now are we past the comments? I remember helping my dad swap in a 289 into a 66 back in 69-70 something like that. I remember swapping the motor mounts but not much else. I'm sure some of the other members would know more if you listed the specifics of what you have (besides the 6) is it a 3 on the tree? Welcome to the site, there are a lot of knowledgeable and friendly folks here.
Good luck on your project,
Mark
