With my 25 degree spread with eot being hotter.. around 225 and it really doesnt go higher than that at all would I be ok to drive home, 1500 miles and when I get there fix it? Also when I stop and grab something to eat or whatever I am doing that will take 20-30 minutes it'll cool down to around coolant temp if not a little less.

Hahaha yeah I got a 6" lift and I'm glad I got a grill guard to stand on and I usually end up sitting inside the engine when I'm workin on my truck. People drive by and look at me all crazy.

Something like this wouldn't be bad. Either way, good luck with the project! One layer at a time. Like peeling an onion(yes sometimes you'll want to cry)

boy of that isn't my middle name.

I found the best way to tackle the job is to remove everything necessary that's closest to the grill then work my way back as not to break or have to climb over parts trying to wrench on something deeper. (All these parts have to come off anyway)
I start with the batteries first.

I'm in the process of doing it right now, just got in the door, and I'm writing things down and I'm going to post the procedure in short form so it's easy to print out, and put a good title on it so the sucky search engine can find it. A couple of pictures, nothing serious, mostly everything from after the turbo comes off till it goes back on.
I got the egr cooler off this morning, and it looked perfect inside, thought..am I doing this for nothing? Clamped the open end of the blue hose to the shop tap, stuck my thumb over the other end and cranked the water on..water was blowing out the exhaust end of the cooler and hitting the wall! It's a wonder I didn't hydrolock it.
