Just came back to Ford after a 4 year run with a Dodge. I can't believe I ever left. Never again!

My family is a Ford family. Not like most people who are just used to buying Fords... I mean that both of my grandfathers retired with Ford. My paternal grandfather died in 1982 and Ford supported my grandmother until she died in 1997. Full pension and healthcare. Ford also put my Uncle through college at UT - full ride (he won a contest with his high school band in the '60s). We bought on the A-plan for years until my grandmother passed... and we still buy new Fords.

In 2007, I bought a Tundra because I wasn't patient enough to wait for the updated F-150. While the Tundra was a great truck, it just wasn't right... it hated towing my trailer and there were several little things that always made me regret the purchase just a little. This year I bought my 2011 Powerstroke. I feel like I've come home again

FWIW, I have personally owned 5 Ford trucks over the years, 9 Mustangs, and 2 t-birds (in the 90s). My family has owned a boatload more. Right now my 2011 is in the parking garage here at work, my wife's '05 Explorer is with her, and my toy - a 1996 Cobra Convertible - is in the garage at home. Oh, and my 1952 Ford 8N is in the barn on our lake property, next to my father's 1956 850.

Brand Loyalty isn't always a bad thing

My wife is 5'8" and can see just fine. From the passenger seat

Seriously though, the driver's seat should adjust up and down. In the Lariats, she should even be able to save her seat position. Unless you mean from outside the truck instead of driving?

My wife drove a little on our test drive. She's 5' and had no problem seeing.

There was a link I read in the Super Duty Forum that has a thread that tested Dodge, Ford, Chev in gas and deisel in a head to head competition and it had a lot of good info. I couldn't readily find it but if I do I will post the link. Maybe someone else has the link....

The hood does seem a tad taller than my old 2008, but not by much. It was noticeable on my first test drive, but I'm used to it now.

I'm 6'1 and this is with my head nearly hitting the ceiling. Are they lower with the moonroof? Sure seems like it.. I think I'm going to have problems on bumpy dirt roads.

I'm 6'6" and while I was surprised at how little headroom there is in this behemoth of a truck... I haven't hit my head yet

I thought the seat was higher than any truck I've ever driven, even lowered as low as it would go. I'm 6'6" and have no issues with my head clearance (could be long legs, short torso..haha). My wife is about 5'6" and she has no problems....and she doesn't raise the seat either. I'm guessing your wife means she can't see the ground in front of the truck. It's a very large truck, but seeing the road in front should be no problem....tell her she can see over all the little cars and SUV's.

I think the owner's manual says to clean those out of the intake occasionally...

The shape of the hood does take a little getting used to.

In my opinion, if that's a deal breaker, it's like saying "I really like the Makita 18v Li-ion cordless set but I won't buy it because the battery charger looks funny".
