Moonshine Festival

Hi Georgia folks. I was wondering if any of you have ever gone to the Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville?

Moonshine Festival

Steve & I are thinking about going to it this year so I was wondering what all there is to do there.

Oh, and please don't tell me its a dry county now........that would be no fun at all..

Thanks. Carlene

I've never been to that. I get my shine from my wife's cousins in Tenn. Helen is a nice little tourist town that is fairly close to Dawsonville, Helen, Georgia | Helen - White County Convention & Visitors Bureau . My wife and I go camping and trout fishing in the mountains around that area every year, very beautiful and serene.

I plan on being there. I've heard its a decent little time.

There's a cruise-in in down town Hiawassee Friday night, then the show/festival is Saturday.

I'll be getting up there Friday some time and staying til Saturday evening.

EDIT - Oops, just realized the link you posted is for the one in Dawsonville.

I'm going to the one at Lake Chatuge - http://www.gammoonshinecruizin.com/

I have alerted the National Guard to be on the lookout. They said they expect a worse disaster than Katrina. LOL

Alright Paul, get that National Guard ready - we're heading to Georgia in the morning.

I'll let ya all know how it was when we get home.

We're back home now to this 90 degree heat - thanks for the few days of cool weather.

We had a wonderful time at the festival on Saturday and then spent Sunday just driving around and stuff. I forgot how beautiful the changing of seasons are up north.
