worse mpgs.....
Hey guys I know this is a big topic but since I deleted the muffler, put the 6637 w/ cover, and did the zoodad mod my mpgs have dropped. I figured I would be getting a little better with all the air coming in and the straight exhaust getting rid of the exhaust quicker.
The truck is also chipped but I keep it in stock 99% of the time.
Just wanted to see if anyone else has seen this with these mods??

Should have gotten better if anything. There is nothing that you did that would make that MPG drop. I originally put wheels and tires on (dropped mpg's a little), then did 4" turbo back exhaust + 6637. At first the straight pipe and filter didn't seem to help the MPG's. I was stumped until one day I thought. Hmmm, how many times have i said "listen to this" followed by a heavy foot. After a little while I stopped getting on it so much and the MPG's climbed. With bigger wheels and tires + the exhaust + 6637, it should even out to be what you got stock. At least that was the case for me. hope this helps.

Trust me I was doing that alot when I first put it on but I lightened up on it and drove normal so once I fill up tomorrow Ill have better numbers but I figured as well that I would have gotten better with the mods. I used to get 430 miles to a tank and it felt like it took forever for the fuel gauge to drop but not its like everytime I start the truck I watch the gauge move.
Thanks for the help,

Well yesterday I filled up and I got 14.6 mpg and I didnt even hit 400 miles this time around. As I mention before I used to get 430 miles to a tank, I ment to mention I used to get 430miles with a 1/4 tank left. I really dont want to run any lower then a 1/4 so I dont pick up all the crap in the tank, if there is any. I believe I have a 32 gallon tank.
Also spool&go, I had gotten new tires recently but I did get the same make, model, and size as I had when I was getting 17 mpg.

I understand that but when it was stock I had my fun with it and it still got 17 mpg I dont race or anything but when you want to hear that wonderful tubro and the sound of the exhaust you push the pedal a little more ahha but I guess Ill have to try and drive normal haha
thanks for the help. I feel as though the 6637 has hurt the mpg the most due to it takes in more hot engine air then fresh cool air even with the zoodad.

There is no way that the 6637 and Zoodad made it this way. The stock filter box is horrible. It really doesn't give your truck the amount of air that you need. Not to mention it doesn't pull cooler air than the 6637 W/zoodad would. The 6637 and zodad give your truck more air (due to surface area) and cooler temperature air. I'd say your MPG problem lies elsewhere, but you should make the custom AIS box either way. The box really helps isolate that new filter and take about 90% of its air straight from your Zoodad. I made mine with an air ram tube. You should look into it. Here's a write up I did. There are more threads if you search it as well:

Just last week I did the ccv kit, aih delete, foil delete and added a 6637. Other than that my truck is all stock and running on 265 tires, 4x4 crew cab. Got out of town for about a 600 round trip this last weekend and I got 19.9 MPG vs around 17.8 MPG prior to the mod additions. Note I did watch how I drove and tried to keep the RPM's just below 2000. I'd say 90% of the trip I ran 1950 rpm.
