Turbo's exhaust wheel looks shredded

I develop a big oil leak that I'm 95% certain is from a blown o-ring on my HPOP. I have those parts but decided to rebuild my turbo while the truck was down, and I just got it all apart, and the "drive" side looks HORRID!! If this is normal, then OK; if not, I may be in the market for a whole new turbo

I'll be posting a pic shortly for y'all to see. Hope it's normal, but .... ugh. Thanks in advance y'all!

Sorry Brendan, that is not normal. We can get you a new shaft and turbine wheel factory balanced.

Wow, that sucks. I wonder what found it's way into the exhaust.

If you're willing to spend the money man then go with the 38R or a van turbo. Should be a nice addition. They're spendy though.

The highest I've ever seen was 1200° and that for a VERY brief period. Of course, there is the possibility that my gauge isn't 100% accurate, but at 65mph on flat ground I'm typically around 650° and ~5psi of boost, so they seem to be in the normal range.

I'm really leaning towards ordering a 38R, just wish I'd have found this earlier in the week!! Now I have a GTP38 rebuild kit for a turbo I likely won't be using.... bummer.

Yeah, that wheel is done.
.
Also I've seen a lot of references to a 38r turbo, but have no idea what the specs for it are vs the stocker.
Google isn't much help on this one, all I get is a bunch of links that say: "Get a 38r."
