Ernie:
I'm impressed with the Toyota steering box work you shared with us. Does it work with Fenton headers on a stock '48 Ford F1? Thanks in advance.

I can't say since I don't have a flathead. I can say that the Toyota Box is pretty close in size to the F1 Box. It's a little fatter all around. Perhaps someone is running the flathead/toyota combo that can answer the question better.

Hey eman,
Did you have to bore out the hole in the frame a little bigger for the sector shaft on the toyota box? I test fit mine today and it looks like there is a possibility it might rub slightly.

I didn't but it's a very tight fit. It doesn't rub. I placed a roll of shim stock around the spline when I set everything in place to center it.

I would grind some clearance.

I thought so too. Would hate to get it all together and then have it rub. I know the original box had about 1/8 or 1/4 inch around it.
