Earlier this afternoon, I called the Michelin 800 number for customer service. They have created a case and instructed me to go to one of the local Michelin authorized dealers to evaluate the tires and then call the 800 number for instructions on what to do.

The person I spoke to on the phone, asked me if I was wanting different tires or the same one. I said, I was wanting to get BFG all-terains when these were worn out but that I had not planned on buying tires 6 months after buying a new truck.

We'll see what the Michelin dealer says when I stop there (Either after work, or sometime tomorrow)

In a perfect world, they give me credit for replacing the tires, which I then apply to the BFG tires. I ran several sets of those on my GM 2500HD Duramax for 8 years, never had a single problem with them. Loved how they handled, how I never needed 4x4 to get out of wet grass, and overall how they performed.

=====================================

I have been using Michelin Tires on all my Trucks and cars since back in the early 70's. Have only ran across one bad tire on a new Merc after a couple years, the tread cracked open showing steel bands and Michelin Dealer prorated using mileage and replaced the tire.. I usually run them for 60-65 thousand miles before buying a new set and they still have 3/32's of rubber on tread..... I'm not a off road'er. My F-250 CC has Michelin Mud and Snow tires now and I have no complaints and get the best mileage with Michelin's.. My current 2011 F-250 CC Diesel I have gotten 27.5 mpg at 55 mph on flat ground at 55 mph ,no hills or wind.. At 65 I get 22 to 24 mpg not towing and pretty flat .. Around town lite driving I get 17-18 mpg. I just got back from a R/T to St Louis, MO. I averaged 23 going and 24 on return trip at 65.
I run a 3:31 rear-end and love it... I now have over 17,500 miles on this truck and no problems other than a door seal which Ford replaced.....
Good Luck with your Tire problem..

I believe BFG and Michilin are under the same corprate umbrella. I would think if they are helping you out they would not mind you going that direction.
