up grading front end to 92+ style

i have a 1988 reg cab diesel and i have a 1993 4.9 donor truck. I'm going to put the newer style front clip on. do i have to change the radiator support??? If i do will the 4.9 radiator support fit the 7.3 radiator???

thanks

Yes, you'll have to change out the core support and no it won't work without modification.

Aren't the radiator supports different between gas and diesel too?

Yes there is...with modification...the "foot" that protects the bottom of the radiator that is attached to the core support needs to be swapped.

It's got rivets but you can either weld it or bolt it back in....

If that's the case......it'd be a ton easier to just drill out the spotweld...

ha i doubt it ford puts in too many. i took out seat brackets from a superduty and there were like 10 spot welds for the little bracket. heads can be grinded off rivets and your done.

What year was the one u had with rivets??

Lookin back it might have been spot welds.....92, so maybe some of the early models slipped through with rivets.
