In a separate post, I recall reading that it was secured by adhesive only. However, I suggest removing the access panel on the inside of tailgate first to verify no posts with nuts holding.

this will only get you so far because it has blank studs to keep it level. once you get to a solid stop from all sides just pull hard, i did mine in the middle of winter and it was a pain in the a**

yeah had mine done by a body shop, he just heated it up and with a heat gun/plate. he put a protecter over the plate part to not hurt the finish. it is only adhesive. my old one wasnt peeling, but it was allowing a stream of water to run down from the botom of the emblem for like 2-3 days after I would wash it or it would rain. After I got my new one on it has fixed the problem. But the new one has starter to bubble just a bit at the top, you can't notice it yet, oh well. This problem is not exclusive to Ford. I have looked at the other cars in parking lots lately and noticed a lot of emblems and badges from other manufacturers peeling and flaking as well.

Not meaning to resurrect an old thread, but I figured it'd be better than starting a new one. Do you think any of this would be covered under warranty? My
F-150 labels are peeling and I'm still under my 3/36. I thought about just getting some black paint and filling it in but I don't want it to look like crap lol.

yeah jpurvis those should be covered by your warranty. My dad took his 2005 in 2 years after he bought it and the dealership covered the cost. I want to get the 09+ badges but I don't want to spend $100 on 3 plastic badges.

x2 on the billet badges

I just went through this....was washing my '05 F150 and the rubber pieces on the windshield cowl literally crumbled.

Its been faded for awhile but I didn't mind because my truck is silver...but I can't deal with the crumbled rubber...just left the dealership and they ordered me one for $165...said it would be $200 installed...could really use $200 for some other stuff but oh well.

Also my fender emblems had a problem the first year...went to a car wash and used the power wand and half the lettering blew out of the emblems.

Truck was still under warranty then, no charge...but 6 months later the lettering blew out again...I took Zip Strip on a micro fiber cloth and CAREFULLY rubbed out the rest of the letters....now their just chrome with just the indentations where the letters used to be....they look good like that so I'l not be getting anymore fender emblems!

Welp, it got put on for $188 instaled...beauty...BUT the night before we had a freak hailstorm and I now have 10 dents in my hood!

Hadn't noticed until the cowling got put on...major bummed!
Contacted insurance company...they looked it over...said $600-$700 bucks...BUT I have a $500 deductable...figured its not even worth it...gonna save for a cowl induction hood for next spring...been wanting one anyways...good excuse now...

Been wanting an ARE cap and white letter tires so those are 1st job.

And yes the end section is made of rubber and this also will fade and fall off in time.
I just replaced mine today on my 2006 F-150 Hope you have some extra cash that you don't need. The cost for mine came to $194.76 with tax for the two sections. One part cost $82.34 and the other section was $99.68 Why the difference in the price. One section has the hose for the wipers.

OH!!! but hold on.The parts do NOT come with the two plastic push pins that you will need. That will run you $5.00 more bucks.

Part #4l3z-15022a69-aa (left)
Part #4l3z-15022a68-ba (right)
My 04' F-150 was fading pretty bad, so I masked my windshield off, & rattle can sprayed it with satin black bumper trim spray. Looks brand new now!

I've had to replace my Front Blue Oval Twice on mine, and recently replaced the tailgate badge with my last front one. My rubber end caps on my windshield cowl also rotted. Two different stealerships told me that you could not buy the end pieces without buying the entire cowl, so I made my own.
