NOS for Dana 44 Locking Hubs???

I would really like to replace my old tired looking hubs with as close to the original as possible.

These are on a 1972 F250 with a regular Dana 44 axle.

Here is a picture of the hub:

I know they were made for Ford by Warn.

I would really like the original red button with the stenciled black "Ford" lettering inside the quarter-turn chrome ring.

The part number might be: C6TZ-1104-B or D2TZ-1104-A.

I would appreciate anybody's help with the correct part number as well as who might have one.

Ya, I know it's a long shot...

Where oh where did you come up with the C6TZ1104B & D2TZ1104A part numbers? Neither is even close to being correct.

From the pic you posted, the outer bezel/**** matches the parts catalog pic of the 3,000/3,300 lb. capacity 1968/72 F100/250 C8TZ1104A Hub Assy.

I found 7 of these hubs NOS.

I also found 35 of C8TZ1A029A Red *****. These ***** are marked FORD in the center.

And...I also found 4 of C8TZ1A050A .. Outer Plate that is marked FREE LOCK
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a similar red **** (D2TZ1A029A) used with the 3,500 lb. capacity Dana 44 D2TZ1104A hub that is marked FORD in the center with HUB above ~ LOCK below.

Its outer plate is marked: WH DRIVE BEFORE / UNLOCK PUT IN 2.

No one has this hub, the button or the plate. From the descriptions, none match your hub, regardless.

The C6TZ1104B hub's **** is much smaller in diameter as is the outer plate. The pic of the outer plate isn't too clear, but its markings do not match either of the above.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If all you want to do is make your 'ol tired lookin' hubs look new again, why buy the entire hub?

Just replace the *****...and the outer plates, if so inclined.

Thank you very much NumberDummy!

I believe that is exactly what I was looking for.

Where did I get the numbers? Well from the 1964/72 Ford Truck Master Parts Catalog (CD-ROM) I ordered from www.fordmanuals.com.

It's hard to page thru on CD and I don't have a clue how to really use it - but I'm trying.

Is there something better to use to look up parts for my frame up rebuild?

Probably, that's why I bugged you - the Guru.

The entire axles and hubs were just rebuilt, so I really just want the red **** and outer chrome ring.

I will call around - Green Sales, Wesley, PartsGuyEd, etc., to try to find these parts:

C8TZ1A029 Red *****

C8TZ1A050A .. Outer Plate that is marked FREE LOCK

Thanks a million - I was just about to give up hope on these - I just hope they don't cost a million dollars!

Cheers! (I owe you a beer!)

P/M or email me your phone number, I'll walk you thru it.

I'll save you the trouble...both parts are obsolete

C8TZ1A029A Red ***** I omitted the A by mistake.

C8TZ1A050A .. Outer Plate that is marked FREE LOCK
Hub illustrated here: Illustration Section 10 / Page 12 / Now you can see...what I see.

If your catalog was scanned from a different edition from what hipoparts offers, you may have to look at a coupla pages in this section to find it.

C8TZ1A029A =

KARLSON MOTORS in Ketchikan AK has TWO = 907-225-9022.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has FOUR = 800-543-4959.

High Buck! BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has FOUR = 800-676-0675/

KAHOKA MOTOR CO. in Kahoka MO has SIX = 660-727-2181.

POECS PARTS in Erie PA has NINE = 888-864-9305.

10 other sources have one each.
--------------------------------
C8TZ1A050A =

MILLER OBSOLETE PARTS in Binghamton NY has ONE = 607-722-5371.

High Buck! BOB ALLEN FORD has ONE.

BIG JOHNS FORD in Minden NE has ONE = 308-832-1640.

RICK FORD SALES in Hemlock MI has ONE = 989-642-5261.

SALEM MOTORS in Crookston MN has ONE = 218-281-1338.

The FoMoCo Dealers are usually cheaper than the obsolete parts vendors, because they are STUCK with the parts...except Bob Allen, who wants mega-bucks for obsolete parts.

When I said there were only 4 plates, I wasn't counting Bob Allen (who should be in Crookstown!). I usually only list Bob Allen if no one else has anything.

Many thanks NumberDummy.

I did manage to find the two red ***** at Green Sales and one chrome ring at Miller Obsolete parts and one from Salem Ford in Crookston Minnesota.

My axles and hubs are going to look brand new and original - cool!

Hi NumberDummy,

Sorry to resurrect this old post, but I've been searching post and the web for 3 hours now and have come up with nothing. So, I need some HELP.

I have a 78 F250 4WD (yes I know I'm in the wrong forum, but could not find this level of detail there. sorry)

My front hub assembly looks 'exactly' like this one (in the thread).
However, I need the O-Ring, ORING or Gasket that is 'directly behind the chrome cap. What’s the part number for this?? FOMCO or otherwise.

Thanks for your help.

Oilseed.

The 3" one you ar3e asking about was C8TZ1A030A. That had been replaced by C8TZ1A030D.

While you are there the 2" one that fits on the **** was C8TZ1A030B. That had been replaced by C8TZ1A030C.
