A Word of warning about the PCV valves.
I posted about this in the V10 forum, but I wanted to let everyone here know to check their PCV valve.
I had my mileage dropping real bad earlier this year. I changed the plugs, and they had some deposits. Not bad, but some. My mileage and power came straight back.
Over the next few months, the mileage again sent slowly bad. I was to the point of 8 MPG higway at 65 mph.
I decided to do the plugs again, and they were heavily encrusted with ash deposits. I suspected light amounts of oil, and checked the PCV valve. It had gone the way of the wind.
No codes showed. My PCV is the type with a wire and electrical sensor on it.
After the new plugs and the PCV, It runs better than it ever has. No more very slight roughness. Lots more power, and the mileage is right back.
Check your PCV and plugs if your mileage is dropping!!!

BTW, for the 2004 and 2005 owners, The PCV Valve is the blue plastic tube affair sticking out of the middle of the passenger side valve cover.
To get the hose off, You need to reach around it and there is a yellow tab sticking out. catch it with your fingernail and pull it away sideways about 1/4 inch from the connector. Do this while you are pulling them apart lightly.
To get the PCV valve out, it is sort of camlocked into the valve cover. Grab it firmly and twist counter clockwise about half a turn. It will come right out.

You can get them from Rockauto or your dealer. Napa, Autozone, Advanced, and Pep Boys all said the same thing. No reference for it. Even when I gave them the ford part number off the side.
