Chad,
Welcome to FTE. What are your plans for your new truck? (restore or custom) Either way you might want to get a manual and a mid-fifty catalog. Mid Fifty F-100 Parts - Home
Keep us posted on your progress.

Good looking truck! You have got to love the '56s. Getting it drivable will make is a good way to start, a lot of people like to completely stripe it when they first get it, but the problem with doing that is you have no time enjoying the truck first, which tends to lead to burning out with the project cause it was never really enjoyed as a truck.
You may find yourself quite content with driving it as is for some time, you drive a project a whole lot different than a finished truck (not worrying about it getting dented in a parking lot or something for example)
Have fun!

I've got a question for you veterans. What should I do about insurance on a project car? Suggestions?
Thanks! That's very cool. I've always been really intruiged by older cars/trucks but don't know the 1st thing about them. This will force me to learn. My brother and his buddy (mechanic and body shop guy) are coming over this weekend so we can start planning. Hope I don't mess things up too bad, lol!

Thanks! I'll take a look at Hagerty.
Thanks so much, it's helpful to a noob like me.
Thanks Merc! I'm new to cars but when it comes to forums I'm a pro!
HAHA! Thanks. I hope I have as much success as you have faith. I know next to nothing about this sort of stuff. This is my incentive to learn!
Thanks Epp! Glad to be here. Love all the info I've found so far.
