2010 Expedition. Tapping sound. Parking brake?
Got a brand-new 2010 Expedition. Great truck! Only problem is an occasional tapping sound when going over bumps. Something is loose but after 20 tries I can't figure it out. I did find a small black spacer thing on the drivers floorboard right after I got the truck. It appears now to have come from the parking brake "cam" that is located to the left of the brake pedal. It doesn't fit perfectly but when inserted the noise appears to stop? Any one else with some insight on this? I put it in but it popped back out after just a little bit. Thanks as always!

The spacer looks like two black cones. A small one and a larger one with the bottoms touching each other. It was sitting on the floorboard of the drivers side.
Does anyone know where this spacer might have come from? I am wondering if it's being on the floorboard is the reason for the occasional tapping sound I am hearing from under the drivers dash.
Thanks for any insight!

No idea. You might want to head right back to the dealer though with the part in-hand and ask them exactly what it is and why you're holding it in your hand!
"Oh.. and by the way. There's this tapping sound I'm getting and it may have to do with these little things YOU are now holding in your hand. Any ideas??"
