I just installed a Glowshift EGT gauge on my truck and after reading the instructions I went ahead and installed the probe on the right side manifold.(My truck is right hand drive).
I have now been told that the left hand manifold actually runs hotter and I was wanting to know if anyone can tell me if this is true and if so how much hotter.
Should I keep the temperatures below what is recommended if the probe is fitted on the left hand manifold?
Scott
Hello HD I don't know why one side would run hotter or if it is even true. That's why I'm asking if anyone else has heard of this.
I put my probe in the right side for the same reason you put yours in the left side, it was easy to get to.
Your good Scott no worries there. There is no difference in the temp of the sides unless you have injectors not working and if that was the case you would be able to tell other than by temps
Thanks Jim, theres nothing worse than doing a nice clean install and then having someone tell you its all wrong, kind of knocks the wind out of your sails.
