5th Wheel Hitch with Bed Mat

This is something I have wanted to do since I got the 5er. Have the bed mat in the truck
while the hitch is in place, but I didn't want to cut large rectangles in the mat to fit over the
bed rails of my old hitch. So when I installed the Reese Elite hitch the first time I noticed
there was about a 3/8" gap between the bottom of the hitch legs and the truck bed.
All you need to do is measure from the front of the bed and the sides of the bed where the
center of the attachment points are for the hitch, place the bed mat into the bed and
transfer the attachment point locations. Then cut 3" squares or circles to clear the pucks.
Now my coolers etc. do not wander around while I'm driving down the road.

Cut the holes in the bed mat.

Install the hitch.

I wanted that so bad for the new ride. I just couldn't see it because I had the standard hitch and rail setup from the old truck. I bought a lottery ticket though so maybe there's hope.

Why wouldn't you want a sprayed in bedliner? I like my sprayed in.

Sprayed in, or rolled on bedliners are great for scratch and abrasion protection.
Bed mats give you impact resistance and a tacky surface to prevent loads from shifting.
So when we're out riding ATVs and my son finds a 20lb. pretty rock to take back to
mom and plops it in the back of the truck, the pretty rock won't get damaged.
