I had issues when I first got my truck. Despite following instructions, they still will stop working correctly about every 6 months. I reprogram them and repeat the cycle for another 6 months. My openers were installed in 2010, so they weren't brand spanking new, but they weren't old tech either. I just learned to deal with it...I've sucked too much time trying to "fix" it.

I had to buy a conversion module from LearCar2U to get my door to work. LearCar2U - Home Apparently my door was not supported. Strange because my other half drives a 2013 C-Max Energi. All I had to do to program hers was hold the old handheld box close to the visor while holding one of the buttons down for a few seconds. With the conversion module I haven't had any problems opening the garage door from my truck since.

Just successfully programmed both of my doors. So first, my truck has the Car2U buttons and I have about 12 year old Lift Master garage door openers. All I had to do is to press the outer 2 buttons in the truck for 1-2 seconds. All three leds turned on. Then get out and press the learn button on the garage door, then hurry back to the truck and press and hold the button I wanted to program. Hold it until the door opener lights flashed. Took about 20 seconds. The repeat for the second door.

Hope that works for you. Good luck.

Sounds correct, but my truck forgets at least once every 6 months and I have to do it all over again...lol

Hey everyone,

If you're having the same issues as 98woody, make an appointment at your dealership so a service tech can inspect. Post your results here; I'll keep checking in to see if anyone needs additional help.

One other thing. The first door I programmed while the truck was in the garage. It worked no problem. The second one was my door so I backed out of the garage. It tried it a couple of times and it didn't work so I pulled into the other bay and tried again. Then it worked. My only thought was that it needed to be closer to program. Not sure...

mine is a property gate. I pulled the truck grill to within 1 inch of the controlbox.

the vendors remote worked from 30 ft away
