When the recall was done on my '01 I was told it was leaking and could have caused a fire. <!-- / message -->

I hope that they fixed the leak.
The 'Recall' wire kit does not 'Fix' anything to stop leaks... What it has, is a conection and fuse that will pop if there is a leak/short and cut off the power in that area. Thus, hopfully stop any arch to cause a fire. The manufacturer did nothing to fix the cause of the 'leaks'. If you see any leakage around this area, there is still a harzard and should be fixed. The fuse/wire kit is only a cheap stop gap.
When I had mine done, I drove it into the service bay. The Service Manager said I could wait in the 'lounge'. I said it would take less that a minute to change and I would sit right there, and 'if' he had a problem with that, open the bay doors.... because I was backing out. The SM walked away.... When the Tech came over I got out of the truck and was watching him and said... "don't touch anything but the recall connection wires" He knew what I meant and said that he was not 'authorized' to do anything but that.
Again, the 'recall' does nothing to stop the leak 'problem' it only cuts power (hopefully) when there is a leak problem.

My kit came with a new switch along with the wire kit. For as cheap as it was (11 bucks and change), it was worth it to not have to go to the dealer. There's no way here in Houston that you're gonna get it done while you wait. You're going to leave the truck there for at least a day. Plus, I don't want them changing my black CPS out.
