Finally got a camper my 78 Supercab Camper Special. A color matching 79 Western Wilderness 9 1/2 footer. Truck drives pretty good, but I definitely need some fresh shocks. What are the best HD shocks I can put on that are available for a 78. I was going to go with some KYB Gasadjust. KYB lists a different shock for a crew cab vs all other configurations. Interestingly, Monroe and Gabriell list specific shocks for the crew cab AND camper special. From what I can tell the crew cab shock is about an inch longer. Is there some similarity between the crew cab suspension and the camper special suspension that requires the same size shock? Should I get the crew cab version of the KYB?

These rigs were built to work and therefore tend to ride stiff.

Personally, I prefer Bilstein HDs or KYB GR2 shocks.

Thanks for the reply. I did look it up at shockwarehouse. That's what lead me to the question of whether I need the KYB's specified for the crew.

Bilsteins aren't available for 78's are they?
