Just became the owner of a 52 F-1!

I stumbled upon this site while researching 52 F-1's. Seems like I might be hanging around here a lot

Here is my new acquisition:

I've already learned that the side hood molding is from '51 just from browsing around a bit.

Congrats! Yes that is '51 molding, so is the piece on the front of the hood, sure that's not a '51? Anyway, it's great to see another bucktooth, this will become your new home on the web.

Doesn't have the original engine, it has a 305 chevy in it. The bed on it is not a 52 either, it is possibly a 48.

I just clicked on the "read these articles first" sticky. WOW.

Haha, yes, there's a whole world of info on this site. Well, my truck has a bunch of mismatched parts too, although I thought the beds were the same on '48-'52 trucks?

Your truck looks like it's in really great shape too, is that old paint or a newer distressed paint job?

Any more pics, we love pics

I'm in Indiana (don't know why it doesn't show on my posts, I set it).

Here are the only other pics I have so far:

Nice looking truck! The hood is from a 51, while the bed is from 48-50. What's the fourth characater in the VIN?

By the way, if you get ambitious, I have a nice and complete 51/52 F1 bed for sale.

That's an awfully solid truck for here in the rust belt. Congrats! I actually prefer the older beds. Much more stylish! Where are you at in IN? I'm near Lafayette. If you're close, we ought to get together sometime. Maphap I can help ya do something about that wart under the hood!

According to the PO, it came from Missouri and that is the reason for the lack of rust. It is pretty clean underneath as well. This was my main reason for buying it.

I'm on the NE side of Indy in a town called McCordsville (still can't get this to show on my posts )
