I read the DPF delete posts all of the time, only to typically see posts about recent deletes.
Wondering about the long time deleters, 50k, 100k, and beyond of actual DPF delete miles. Do you have success stories to tell; i.e. no major attributed failures, great gains, etc.?
Also, what's the opinion on when the delete occurs? At initial purchase would seem to be ideal. I'm coming up on 90k (no issues), but has the dreaded regen damage be done, and the $2k delete too late to provide any engine saving benefit?
I currently have 62,000 tuned km's on my truck. No making oil, no radiator issues, no transmission issues. Roughly a 2-3 MPG increase over stock and I could get more if I drove it nicer. I consistently get 16-17mpg driving 85mph and I was lucky to get 15 mpg at 60 mph in stock form. No reflashes from Ford since the day I picked it up in Sept of 2008 and no other issues to speak of.
My maintenance schedule consists of oil change every 10,000km (full synthetic since 15,000), fuel filters every 25,000km, tranny flush and fluid change at 50,000 and air filters when they need it. About 2000 of those km's are towing roughly 10,000lb which I did with the tuner on the 275 setting without issue. Still the best performing, best towing and most comfortable truck I have driven.
Yes I have had the cap since 2 weeks after I bought the truck so there has been no change there. Also still driving on the original tires, brakes and everything else although the tires are pretty much done and are getting changed within the next couple weeks.

I 2nd that! I've never been happier. And I now have 27K+ Spartan DPF deleted miles on my truck, and have roughly 33K miles on my rig all together.
Brandon, I can't believe you are still original tires! Mine are just about done, with 33K miles on them. I have a set of 35x12.5x20 Mickey Thompson ATZ's comin wooohooo!
Mines been deleted since new and I just turned 94,000. Running SCT 120HP tune all the time. Towing heavy probably 20% of it's life. I've also been running CI oil because I believe the CJ is crap.( I don't want to here about it! CI is also for EGR engines.) I will be removing all the EGR stuff soon. I love it and I've saved thousands in fuel costs. Never been to the dealer. The radiator started leaking around 70,000 and I haven't got around to changing it out. Truck runs flawless.

Umm, Let us say with DPF and no tune you average 15 mph for 90k and without DPF and "your" tune for 90K and an average price of 3 bucks per gallon, you have saved $4500 over the 90k with these assumptions. Interesting!

What brand of CI Oil have you been using?
I use Volvo CE branded oil. I picked up about 4 mpg on average. 13-17. Fuel was $4.99 a gallon for quite a while so an average fuel price would be hard to pin down, but at $3 it's a little over $5k. I figure around $6K and then you have to back out the cost of the tuner and pipe $1,000. I will run the truck well over 200,000 miles, but the biggest factor is the way the truck performs.
What is the difference between CI-4 and CJ-4 oil? Are you saying you picked 4mpg just by switching to Volvo CE Oil? Is that synthetic? What weight oil is it?

Thanks..
No, the oil had nothing to do with it. CJ oil is designed to work with DPF and EGR systems. CI oil was not designed to work with the DPF but was designed for EGR.
