Mine is a 2010 fx4 and it does the same thing. I replaced the tires yesterday and the seat still shakes just like before. So i dont think its the tires.

I don't think it's the tires either. My 04 pass. seat shaked with different sets of tires and my new 09 does too. It doesn't make any noise so it doesn't bother me at all...

You guys are more tolerant than I am. After spending 40K + on a truck, I expect nothing to be shaking.

My 2009 has non-OEM Kuhmo ASX tires on it.

Unless the Ford wheel designs makes it difficult to balance any brand of tires, I would doubt it is a balancing issue that is a truck-wide problem.

Talking

I have a 2010 SuperCrew XLT and I heard about the balancing issues. This truck was purchased used by me with 3,800 miles. I noticed that the stock tires had already been replaced and had brand new Michelins. Is this why? And I have seen many complaints about the 2010s with this problem. I only see complaints filed on the Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum models. Is it something to do with luxury??? haha It wasn't really that funny I just liked that smiley....

Just spoke with my dealer and he was not aware of any TSB's for bad seats on Lariat's or Platinum's. So, if I take the truck in for service, the end result will yield nothing then. I don't think tires are the root cause either, because if they were, the whole truck would bounce around and not just the passenger seat. There must be something wrong with the seat itself but if Ford is not willing to replace it with a better one, we're all SOL...

try driving from the passengers seat and see if the drivers seat does the same thing. LMAO Sorry, i had to!

Have you ever noticed the movement at the tip of your antenna in relations to the movement to the base of it. The further you get from the anchor point the more movement you will get. Now i know the wind is the major culprit when driving but go push down on the tailgate and i bet it still moves.

i'm willing to bet if you took the seat back off and drove around the seat itself would barely move. Every bump in the road is going to be amplified by something that extends quite a bit from the anchor point.

Just my .02 cents.

^good points. it is mainly just the seat back itself. and the problem is more common to the Lariats and Platinum, etc. because they have the separate captains chairs. I'm the sure the wider bench seats don't rattle as much.

I have complained about it every time I go into the dealer for service. According to Ford "its normal." What a crock of crap, I wouldn't call my truck a lemon but its certainly not what I was hoping for. Been a Ford guy my whole life, doubt Ill buy another F-150.

Shouldn't be something that is just the way it is. My dads 01 F-150 doesn't do it, neither does my buddies 2010 Tundra.

Forgot to mention in my previous post that i have an stx and the passenger seat does vibrate quite a bit but without the noise problem. Doesn't really bother me at all!

Well two different trucks. It's the way they are designed. Live with it. Ford prob. Won't fix it.

Yeah obviously they are different trucks

30-40K vehicles shouldn't have problems you need to "live with"

But ford wont fix it because some customers, ahem, are willing to take it.
