ford superduty clutch replacement cost?
hey guys my uncles friend owns a contracting co in the area he has 95k on a 2006 ford f250 4x4 5.4l truck with the 6 speed similar to my own and was asking around how much it would cost to have a clutch kit installed in his truck so what would be the going avg cost of labor+parts, i can get him a ford oem clutch kit for around 300, what would be a rough est for labor and turn around time for a job such as this if he had it done at the dealership, is there anything i should tell him to have the shop check while the tranny is dropped from the engine to check for anything out of the ordinary?

My suggestion is that you call your local Ford dealer and 2 other trusted shops and ask them the question. It takes 5 minutes per call and you have the right answers. As long as the trans it out you can change the fluid assuming it is still the factory fill.
I'm surprised the clutch is worn out already. Does your buddy slip the clutch a lot, accelerate hard and shift fast? I have a 7.3L with 116K miles and the clutch thickness is nearly as good as new. It's not uncommon for diesel trucks to go 150K - 200K miles on the OE clutch. I don't know if the 5.4L gets the same clutch.
