2005 Excursion and 2011 F-250 Take Offs
Hi,
I have a 2005 Excursion diesel. I have the opportunity to get some take off tires and wheels from a 2011 F-250 SD Lariat. Are the bolt patterns the same? Any issues I need to be aware of? Thanks!!!!

I think anything from 2005 and up needs a spacer as the b/s is different. I believe 99-04 would fit 05 and up, just not the other way around w/out spacers. Just do us and you and your family a favor and get good(expensive) spacers. Well worth the $$$. Show it off once you get them.

Do a "search" here in the X forum and you'll find lots of info... You'll need 2 inch hubcentric spacers... get them here: wheelspacers.com
Search my posts....high1 posts and MONSTA posts... there are others with 05 up SD OEM wheels on Excursions... We were some of the first to do the swap.
Happy reading!

Bob,
Do you still have the F250 20" OEMs on your truck??? If so, do you absolutely love them??? And if not, why???
I had MotoMetals 20" w/ Nittos and ended up hating it!!! went back to Factory 16" uglys. But I am itching for the 20" f250s... just dont want to make the same mistake.
Thanks,
P

You also eliminate galvanic corrosion by using aluminum since the wheels are aluminum. Ask anyone who's ever tried to get the aluminum wheels of the stock mating surface in the dark, at night, in the rain, with a car full of people just to change a flat: Galvanic corrosion sucks.
Which reminds me. Your spare will become absolutely useless so plan to either get a matching 5th rim or something that can repair a flat enough to get you home/repair shop.

I talked with Fred Geske from wheeladapters.com last night, heck of a nice guy but the $640.00 is bugging me. I know safety is the most important thing but are these that are on ebay unsafe? Has anyone used them? The $280.00 seems more realistic.

You can not put a price on safety... that is one reason why I drive the biggest SUV ever built.
Buy from Fred.
