Bringing back from the dead. Any pics??? I am interested in newer SD wheels on my 99.

 

We got the adapters from Fred, added a new springs on the front for a 2" lift and added air bag on the rear. We had to grind about 1/4" off the front studs.

 

Wow that looks really good!!! Do the tires stick put past the fenders? Did you get 2" or 2.5" spacers? Also what size tires are you running? Sorry for all the questions, just gathering info.

 

Thanks - we got the 2" spacers. With 2" spacers the tires do not stick out any further than the stock tires/wheels. The tires are stock tires for a 20" rim 2011 F-250.

 

Your Ex looks perfect! What size are the tires? Also, what lift did you go with?

 

 

Is everybody having to grind down the factory studs

 

I had to grind down the front wheel studs about 1/8th - 1/4th inch. Update - Just checked the spacer torque for the second time since putting these adapters on and no torque was lost. We also ended up having new blocks made for the back so that there wasn't so much air in the air bags. The ride is much better with so swaying.

 

You just have to grind down the fronts only and not the rear studs?

 

Bringing it back from the dead. I picked up a 2005+ OEM 18's today for a steal. It seems that the Coming Soon page website is down where has anyone found good spacers lately?

Here is a set of hub Centric ones-

 

They look fine to me. They're aluminum and I noticed the price is for 2 ... so 4 = 480.00. If it were me, it's important to know they're made/machined from billet 6160 T-6 and I did not see that in the description. I agree... Aluminum adds less unsprung weight to the suspension but steel is more forgiving. However I see no reason why these spacers would be just fine and dandy though.

I will say without reservation, there are lots of horror stories with Aluminum spacers. FYI... anytime aluminum and dissimilar metals are combined/bolted together, use a inhibiting compound. I like NO-OX special ID and it has tons of other uses as well.

 

I used the "cheap" ebay spacers that ARE hubcentric and they are perfect. Personally I think it's a waste to buy the exact same thing for more money but others disagree. My 2 cents.

I think someone did the math in another thread about hub vs lug centric....and that you had very little to worry about in "shearing off" 8 individual grade 8 bolts....no matter how much you tow.
