Due to health issues the 51 F1 project was put on hold for a couple of years, but I am now getting back to work on it, although I sure hope the rain and cold come to an end soon.
Jag suspension installed, flathead mounted

Adapter and cover installed for AOD conversion

Original 3 speed crossmember removed, installed F3 4 speed crossmember to accomodate AOD

Lining up the AOD (test fit)

Adjusting crossmember position

Crossmember in position

Being poor I can't keep changing vehicles, I have to commit to what I get, I still have the 99 E350 I bought in 2002, and the 73 E100 I bought in 2008, doing good to keep going. I sure could use power steering in the 73 but requires a lot more than I can handle alone, I don't have help anymore, if things don't slack up, I'll have to sell it to get something easier, which will wind up being GM as I have to keep the engine accessible, the later Econoline with power steering, the engine is not easy to change plugs in like the 68-74. I've struggled to find a radiator, the correct one, know as a heavy duty is no longer available, they only make one for 6 cylinders, so I have issues running hot, tried an electric fan in a custom shroud with a new 'available' radiator, burnt up the fan, swelling the radiator tank, so much for the new stant cap releasing pressure at 13 psi, I ordered a 6 blade flex fan, need a shroud to increase the flow, waiting on the correct radiator, likely will never see it. Anyone have an extended cargo van to trade?

That is the 6 cylinder radiator from the trucks, cross check it, the CA392 was the ideal one for a v8.

What really makes me mad, they show what I have, when you get their 'new' one in, the sides have filler in place where cores were on your old one, less cores do not equal a better product, call them on it and they turn a deaf ear on you, spectrum made that abomination I got, after you install it, and their damn orange sticker thats stuck to the cores blows off, you no longer have a warranty, and they no longer have to talk to you, no way to do business IMHO and never will I buy anything from them again, so watch out who your supplier gets parts from! My previous was installed in 95, cores go to the braces, the replacement stop 1 1/2" from each side, thats 8 cores.

I used the filler pieces to bolt on a shroud for a high volume electric fan, worked fantastic in town, hit the Smokey Mountains and sudden death, good thing I added the biggest transmission cooler I could get, or I would have burned it up, the van was hot.

The wife and I used to camp a lot, went from travel trailer to pop up, but health issues forced us to stop camping for a few years, so this is our way of getting back to it. We still have a lot of work to finish the inside, but here is where we are right now.

King size bed with lots of storage below. Wife is making curtains for the windows.

Wife plans to cover wood wall with her artwork.

Having custom cushions made for this window seat, the top lifts for storage below.

Porta Potti, need to install curtains

A guy in a wheelchair like me bought a bus just like that and converted it, he used an on demand propane water heater for his shower.
