Auto Enginuity cannot connect to My E99 f350 7.3

I'm not so sure of that. I bought the domestic version of AE and they sent me 2 connectors. When I pulled the codes off my daughters 04 Jeep, one of the connectors didn't work at all, the other did.

Chris, since we got our AE's, they've upgraded the proline connector to do everything. No need for two different connectors. Either way, with the older setup the wrong connector would still get generic codes, it just wouldn't do the enhanced part.
Are you getting any lights on the connector? When I plug it into my laptop, it shows up under the "connected devices" thing on the start menu. Are you getting that? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?

Yes, all three lights
Yes, It shows up as "Automotive Dianostic Interface".
Yes, and after talking with Bill at Auto Enginuity I upgraded the firmware on the Proline connector as instructed.
Everything seems perfect it just doesn't see my truck, Bill said it may be the Proline connector Or my truck. Testing another truck would tell which is not working, but I don't know anyone with a 7.3 so I may have to send it back just to find out my truck is the problem.

Are you using a power invertor pluged into your cig lighter? Copy and paste from this site
AEFAQ
Unlike devices connected via Serial cables, USB devices are "Powered" by the PC they are connected to. Connecting an AutoEnginuity USB ScanTool cable to a laptop computer that is being powered through the Cigarette Lighter/Power Port of the vehicle can cause ground loops through the laptop. At the very least this will lead to problems establishing communications with the vehicle, in some cases this can even damage the AutoEnginuity USB ScanTool hardware. This problem will occur whether using an inverter or powering directly off of 12v.

I'll have to call AE and chat with them about this because my short term plans include a larger pure sine wave inverter from which I can run my laptop, printer, and several other smaller goodies. Don't want to plan on creating a hardware problem, that's for sure.
Sorry for the hijack.

Pete, do you have a ground prong on the laptop power cord? When I used to connect my old dell that had a grounded power adapter to a speaker amp, I'd get buzz from a ground loop through the power cord. If I plugged in using one of the old adapters for ungrounded outlets, the buzz went away since there was no direct path. The new laptop has a 2 wire plug (the power brick is double insulated, so no ground required) and I don't get the buzz like the old one had.
