2010 license plate bracket - removal?

I just bought a 2010 Lariat and it has the front license plate bracket attached. How do I get it off?

there are 2 tabs on the bottom that insert into the bumper. at the top there are christmas tree like inserts that hold the top in. with the hood open look down from the inside and take a pair of priers to compress the tabs.

hope this helps.

i will warn you tho that whith that off there are two pieces of metal that look awkward without the license plate holder on it

I just left mine on and will buy some sort of decorative plate to install there. I look at it as protection from road debris taking out my condenser or radiator.

I also do not need a front plate, and I always take it off. but on this one I decided to leave it on to cover up the big hole. I may take it off if I can get some sort of grill installed in the hole to protect the radiator and cooler.

Maybe I'll leave it on too then. I'll have to see. Question. Once it's off can you put it back on w/o having to buy new fasteners?

yes as long as you dont' squeeze the tabs hard enough to break them. as far as the giant hole it will reveal after it's off....

this may sound sort of ghetto but i took my buddy's approach. he had a 2003 mustang with an after market bumper with large openings and had grille inserts put in, or so i thought. it was actually 3 layers of black gutter screen. I never would have noticed unless he told me, so that's what i did with mine... i'd post a picture but my camera is packed up and ready for vacation tomorrow.

If I can find the right type of screen that looks good, that's what I'll do to mine.
