48-50 Ford F1 Decor.

I was on vacation this weekend with my wife and her family in Eagles Nest, NM. While on our way to Santa Fe we came across this amazing ( if you like old gas station and antique stuff) antique shop called Frontier - named after the old gas station that it used to be. If you are ever in the area stop by, Johnny - the owner - loves to talk and he just bought an old Ice Cream Shop (the gray building in the pics) that he is restoring and going to start selling ice cream out of. Have you seen Wild Hogs, No Country For Old Men, and Legion, to name a few? Then you have seen some of his stuff that the movie industry has rented from him. He is located North of Espanola, NM on Highway 68. Thought you guys might like some of the pics. And one last thought, anyone going to the car show this weekend in Vernon, Texas?

I want to do the same thing with a rusty front clip I bought for $50 a couple of years ago. I already cut of the front 12" and plan to blast all of the rust and bondo off and rebondo it to make it look nice. I also want to install 120 volt lights in the headlights. Then I'll mount it on my shop wall.

I haven't been up that way in a while (I avoid hippie-town Taos at all costs) but will make a trip out of it soon! Must be pretty new?

Did you catch any lunkers in Eagle Nest? Best trout fishing in NM!

Fishing wasn't too great. Nothing was biting in the lake, but we did catch a few in the river. How about some of those other prices - 31 cents a gallon. That would be nice to have.

I remember when my dad had his last gas station in '72-73 the price of gas was around 32¢ a gallon. I also remember his landlord telling him he should lower his price 2¢ because the Clark station across the street was at 31¢. The days of gas wars are long gone.

Dude, I have been there a couple of times and last time bought a visible gas pump off the guy. The place is cool and would recomend anybody in the area stopping in and checking i out. Its in Embudo on the highway to Taos just out of espanola.

At some point in my life where I think I can actually build my new shop, I plan on putting a couple old truck shells next to it, with a pair of Christmas lights in the headlamps, hopefully a couple gas pumps with lights, and a few other little odds and ends from the era. The wife may complain, but I call it landscaping.

A friend took a front section like this from a different brand car and replaced the headlights with floods and mounted it high on the front of his building for driveway lights.
