I have an F250 4x4 with a 1ton front axle(1974 frame)

Mine has the 9/16 x 18tpi studs. I broke off 5 count-em studs. After taking a small sledge hammer to them, I was able to pound them out w/o too much trouble ( sorry pops ) but have no way of putting the new ones back in except maybe with a c-clamp between the new stud and the front of the housing. I'll guess at your issue based on what you said already, and tell you what I've done in that situation. Find something to use for a sleeve....maybe a socket if you have a large drive, or other short stout piece of pipe. Put the new lug bolt in from the back, insert the sleeve over the threads and put a lug nut on backwards (flat side to sleeve).

Tighten slowly using lots of lube and patience, and this should pull the bolt into the rotor/drum. Long breaker bar or good air wrench helps.
