rear brake shoe question
Just for verification purposes does the short shoe go on the front or the back on an F350? I know mine were on completely backwards when I got it. The shoes have a spacer on one side that only allows them to go one way but someone put mine on completely wrong. And ruined the drums.
I got new drums and shoes and hardware and found that the two pressed in pins for the parking brake were on the wrong side which would have had me put the long shoe in the front I believe so I took them out and put them in the way I thought was right for the short shoe in front.
Which way is it supposed to be. I'm still trying to fix this brake shake. I have all new rotors bearings, pads drums and shoes on it and even had the new rotors turned then replaced when they screwed them up turning and it still shakes. My axles are not bent. and I can't figure this out. It's starting to **** me off pretty bad.
I don't feel it in the brake pedal. The whole truck grabs and releases and the shifter moves front to back. Feels like the back brakes but I can't be sure. I only have .002 runout on the front rotors and that shouldn't make them shake. You would think new rotors would be zero runout but that is american made quality I guess these days. It's not my abs either. I'm sure of that.

That's what I thought but was wondering if they were different on the one tons or something. I just called a friend of mine at the ford dealer and he told me he keeps seeing the long one in front on my vintage truck. y were redone in the past by the same idiots that did mine before I got it though.
Ya know the one with the stud on it for the p brake parts should go like you say but my new shoes came with the thing already installed on teh wrong shoe to put thet short one on the front. That's why I am doubting myself. I just called a parts store a few minutes ago and asked them what shoe it's installed in on another brand and its the same as what I had. Something is weird here and I need to figure it out.
