caught between getting a 2010 now or waiting
#61
I was going to hold out for the 2011's, but I don't regret the 2010 I got. The 5.4 might not be the newest or most powerful in it's class, but my '10 pulls quite good on full boil, and this is my 4th F 150 with the 5.4, and all of them were completely reliable. In 3 years, I'll buy a new engined F 150, it will give me something to look forward to.

Speaking of Waiting
I traded my early 2010 Lariat for a late 2010 150 FX4 yesterday. I'll buy a "new" new one down the road but for now the old 5.4 is just fine by me.
The Lariat was a good truck but I truly needed a bigger box.
This FX is actually better optioned with rear camera, reverse sensors, sunroof (take it or leave it at this point), power rear sliding window, electronic locker and a host of other goodies making for a pretty big bottom line on a 150 imho. The black interior was the clincher.
The truck has some differences in the dash layout; mainly the "INFO" button. On the Lariat the location was on the center console where I always had to take my eyes off the road to cycle it. The FX4 has it located on the instrument binnacle. If it's always been there on this model that's great. If not, then my hat is off to the ergonomics team because this is the most user friendly place it could be. Easy to find, eyes forward.
The SYNC microphone appears to have moved as well or that may be due to the sunroof. In any event it should work better as it is clearly in view of the driver.
The wheelbase is longer and the ride is excellent. My trade in was worth a lot more than I thought it would and the transaction costs were roughly the difference in the Lariat's original MSRP price and this truck's MSRP.
No regrets.

I really like the ecoboost model. I tow a 24ft enclosed car hauler with my race car all together car and trailer weiggh about 5000lbs. I like the idea of the ecoboost to get the weight up some hills that I run into. I don't think I need a superduty for the weight that I pull plus a new one is a little of of my price range at the moment...My 05 Screw 5.4 did great just gas milage killed me!?!?!?!Anyone test drove the ecobbost model yet?

No problem pulling it's own weight plus alot more.It also drove and handled beautifully ( like a cadillac) Best truck i ever drove! Need i say more ?
