Here are the diagrams for the 1978 F-Series trucks.

I also have the gauge cluster for 1978 vehicles.

Download, save and use them as you need.

I believe the diagrams should work for all years of 73-79 F-series trucks because they are very similar, with the exception of some minor changes, but don't quote me on it.

hi guys new to the site i just rewired my f150 but hit a snag on the cluster connector i cant tell witch wires are what can anyone help me please 1986 ford f150 gauge cluster wiring diagram

You're welcome. Make sure you check out the post that Mike just put up, it looks much more comprehensive than my diagrams. My diagrams are simple, but something a little more intensive like Mike's link might be your best bet if you're doing a full re-wire of your truck.

Nice diagrams. I too have the Mitchel CD with all those and they are great. Came in handy with my build that's for sure.

 

How much re-wiring did you do on your truck and how long did it take you?

I've been avoiding it like the plague cause I don't want to even touch the hack-job my truck has... last time I did, I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start...

Check out the bottom of the webpage link (above), there are wiring diagrams for the 1979 trucks which should be extremely similar to the 1978 diagrams.
