I found cancer on my truck yesterday. Drivers side rear door rocker...I literally pressed it and my fingers went straight through. My truck was completely clean under it 5 years ago and now I have holes. I am starting ti think that cleaning it religiously after each snow storm may have been worse for it.

Thanks. I will have to wait a bit on that one. Plan is to do my best to keep it from getting worse and then when we are back in TX for good, I will to the rust repairs and a paint job.

your totally right, its like parking it in a heated garage, the nasty stuff gets wet or melted and creeps into even deeper areas and actually causes more damage then just leaving it frozen on the underside.
In the past couple of days I have changed the engine oil and filter. Changed the transmission oil and filter. Swapped out the factory transmission pan to the deep Derale pan. Added several springs to the accumulator section of the valve body. Shifts are now very snappy, only the 1 - 2 shift is a little hard sometimes, but not too hard. Trans temps went up to 165 deg max while driving around the neighborhood for about 45 min, dropping to 163 while in drive at a stop light. Have yet to see how it does on the expressway and while towing.
last night installed the strictly diesel dip stick adapter on my truck. was originally looking for orings but decided this route. i now have no leak what so ever.
when i swapped out my glow plug last year i had to cut the dipstick bracket to remove the oil pan. i was able to remove it and weld it back uo today at work .

What brand cross bars are those holding up your roof rack?
Spent time cutting and grinding the idiotic shear bolt heads off the hitch. Changed the oil in the rear axle since it was so available without the fuel tank in the way. Tomorrow is spraying the back underbody with vinegar and wiping it all down, then rinsing and letting it dry for a couple of days. (if the weather allows it) Then the wire wheeling any rust and painting. Then on another day, assembly.
Maintenance is a pain, but not as much pain as paying for a new truck.
