With that setup, your left side wouldn’t be able to open with a trailer hitched up, the trailer jack would be in the way.

Struggled

Put in the new ujoint for the front left drive shaft. Took much longer than i wanted it too but seemed to solve the jumping problem. Although the abs light is on im happy. Also finally found the third row seats and second row seatbelts so a good weekend all and all.

Replaced the PCV and rubber grommet, oil filter and fresh oil. Attempted steering box repair but as soon as I removed the steering shaft I saw that the leak was not from the input shaft seal but rather from the middle of the box where it looks like it comes apart. I guess the gasket blew out. I guess I'm replacing the box and probably the lines as well. I think I read somewhere that someonereplaced theirs with one from a newer super duty, is this possible and is it actually better?

Rock Auto sells rebuild kits for the gear box. Not sure of the quality of the parts, but pretty affordable

Yeah, I saw that, just curious if anyone's actually done it and how difficult it was. It's most likely the route I'm going to go as it's the cheapest way to go. I'm going to pull the box and disassemble first to make sure there's no serious damage to the internals.

The pics speak for themselves. I emailed Redhead yesterday and still haven't gotten a response. Yes, I know the warranty is only 12 months but at least respond.

I think I'm going to rtv it as well as replace the o ring.

Cool Column Shifter Bushings

I replaced both column shifter bushings in an attempt to eliminate the sloppy feel of the shifter. Both bushings were disintegrating and there was a lot of black dust and debris all over the shaft and surrounding areas.

Didn't help the shift feel quality much. A little maybe. But it was a let down.

Job didn't take more than an hour. Would I do it again? Probably not, unless I was bored and had nothing else to do. ; )

Serp Belt

Oh, yeah... replaced the serp belt, too. $27 for the part vs the $135 the indy garage wanted. Boo-ya.

Replaced my 6 OEM speakers. Nothing special 2 JBL 8602 in the front doors and 4 JBL 8620's rear doors and the way back. Still have my original radio.
