Hello everyone....new to this section of the Forum

I just purchased a 2000 Excursion V10 Limited a couple of weeks ago at a local Goodwill Auction. (yes that's the mileage in the photo)

Have always wanted one and at the price per pound that I paid it was cheaper than hamburger......

Ran the carfax and found out the same local person has had it since 6K miles

Have spent to last two weeks cleaning the interior and just started buffing the outside. (see photos)

Just had Right & Left upper and lower ball joint installed. Now to figure out the wheel and tire thing....

Also purchased 05 Aero style headlights to install.

i agree the older design was light years ahead in reliability compared to this new stuff.

I'd shudder to think you paid even 10% the price/lb of hamburger! Even the costco price is $2.99/lb out by me which would be about $20,000 for an excursion!

Paid just a little over a 0.10 cents per pound (curb weight)

Couldn't come up with something witty other than hamburger.......maybe I should have said I paid "scrap weight"

ArmyRover is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Bought my Excursion a couple weeks ago in Arizona. Luckily near by family who was willing to do the leg work and even drive it to Georgia for me.

So I had been away for duty so yesterday I finally got to see what I bought outside of horrible cell phone pics. Cleaned the bug guts off of it and started airing out the old man scent.

2000 V10 Limited 4x4 V10. Had a mediocre respray on the paint at some point. Tires were a bit sketchy but everything is clean and rust free. With 160k and maintenance history Iím feeling good about it so far.

Also did a oil change last night.

So today I was driving and noticed the right front tire was coming apart from age and dry rot. So a unscheduled stop at a place where everyone knows my name....

Always looks so sketchy when I see one of my trucks like this

A few pics with the 285/75R16 Pathfinder ATís installed E load range of course

Just got the X back today. Been at the body shop all week getting both rocker panels replaced. My truck spent most of its life down south, except for the last 4.5 years here in New England. I didn't expect the cancer to spread that quickly. Thankfully I got it taken care of when I did. Always when you least expect it!

It was an option or accessory I recently learned. I definitely never had one.
