Replaced both fuel filters. That lower one is a real bugger on a 4wd. I got more dirt from my hands on the new filter trying to install it than the old one had on it. Cycled the key about 10 times and she fired right up without missing a beat.
Changed the oil for the second time since I bought the X and replaced the filter. I used rotella t6 this time since oreillys had $5 rebate per gallon coupons.
I tried to change my coolant filter but the damn thing is stuck like Chuck. My filter pliers were gonna tear through the metal of the filter so I just stopped there for now. I may try that again tomorrow.
If that's your EX shown in your avatar picture, then those BFGs are 16" since they are on 16" OEM Limited wheels. 15"s won't fit on our rigs due to the size of the brakes.
Oops, Now I see that you updated your signature to show the 16" size.
I noticed that after I read my signature! At first I thought you were giving me hell about my stock rims! I can handle a little friendly jest!
I removed the crappy brush guard, ordered a full replacement, a LeeceNeville AVI160T2002-2 230amp alternator with full wiring kit and an SCT X4 tuner today. Ready to install this and get it on!
We've been off grid for a bit. This was from one of the forest service campgrounds we stayed at in the black hills. 9 sites total, saw about 3 vehicles go by per day. Nice to travel in sept with all the munchkins back in school. Heading east now.
That pic was taken at a cg called black fox. Forest service cg northwest of Custer. 20 miles of dirt roads to get to. No water or electric, pack it in pack it out kind of place. My buddy was slaying the trout in that little stream.
3000 miles so far since we left home. We are at a COE park in Iowa tonight.
Replaced the smashed and bent stock steering stabilizer with a temporary Monroe dampener.
Pulled the front driveshaft to rebuild it because the slip yoke had a lot of play.
Worked on tidying up battery wiring to get ready to install my 230 amp alternator and supplemental wiring.
My door ajar light came back again... decided on a permanent fix! I cut the sensor out and ran the wires together, the ex now forever thibks that door is closed lol! Its amazing how quiet and refined this truck is now. The sound deadeing and weatherstripping makes this thing like a vault and my sound system sing! Hope all is well with everyone in ex land, I havent been on here for awhile
Cleaned and shot my door seals with silicone again. It amazes me how much noise the doors make that you get used to until it isn't there. Using it to move into the new house this week also.
