Whew, that's good. I thought you were gonna say your v10 shot a spark plug out of the head like v10's have been known to do
Nope, I've only had that issue with my old '98 5.4 Expedition. Best part of the whole deal though? Even if it does spit a plug you are not stranded and it's a easy cheap fix.
Yeah the v10 I have experience with was driven 250 miles with a dead hole. I tried to fix the threads with the helicoil deal but that didn't work. Ended up dropping a new motor in the truck.

Exactly. Unplug the injector and the coil and keep on driving.

For a spit plug? Sure helicoil sucks for this type of fix and only a threaded aluminum insert should be used (Time-Sert, Lock-N-Stitch, etc), but wow, you replaced the whole engine for one little 'ol spit spark plug?

Totally agree, seems an extreme measure for a failed fix using a less than correct insert.
If you lack the experience timing an engine and dealing with head removal/install I can certainly see where replacing the engine would be "easier". Certainly still cheaper than a bulletproofing job on a 6.0 either way you go!

Here we go again with the 6.0L bashing.
What did I do with my Ex this weekend? Drove it, didn't crack open the hood, didn't look under it just drove it.
