I may make a deal with a local dealership that loves to sell people lifted trucks. They will not give me what I could get from a private sale, but I may be able to slide into another car from their lot.

Tomorrow afternoon I should know more.
You go to make a deal on selling yours and I made a deal to buy my 4th.
Meeting in the AM to exchange cash for the title, then the work starts.
Took The Beast desert camping to ride the dirt bikes and have some fun with the new light rack, which might have involved my son, a 22, and some jack rabbits ;-) Untitled by blampright, on Flickr
I went and got my first estimate to fix the damage on my truck today from when that ******* pulled the gun on me last year... $1k. Not sure what I'm going to do, I was honestly expecting it to be about half that. Also that was without paint, getting it painted jumped it up to $1,700!!!
Definitely use a reputable shop, if they don't make you feel right when you first get inside. LEAVE. I prefer to use a shop my insurance company uses as well. Had good experiences a couple times and will likely go back when needed.
So, we have decided that the Ex should move on, now it is just the issue of finding the right buyer. Until that time, I am still here and proud to be so!
I was thinking about it also, wife want to keep it though, market is flooded with them cheap anyhow so i doublt ours would be worth anything.
I made a deal on this Excursion, I'll tell more tomorrow once it's a done deal and I have it in my possession. 2000 Limited V10 4x4 175k miles, clean title, runs and drives great! fluids look good, everything works except the door lock actuators. It comes with a fender, header panel and headlights.
on the hunt for a hood, bumper and snow tires as the ones on it are junk. Needs a really good cleaning.
did you pay the full 3000 for it? i went and looked at it but looked like the adapter between the trans and tcase was cracked and was really wet with atf under it

That is the key here...
Use a shop that your insurance company recommends. This way if you have a problem, your insurance company can light a fire under them and it'll get taken care of.

No, and I haven't done the deal yet. I never looked under it...stupid me.
I'll go look it over better today before I buy it, if it looks like a bigger headache then i thought I'm walking away.

What are you smoking Skip?
I just grabbed the truck and ran it down to my shop, crawled under it front to back, had a few of my guys look it over. It's totally try underneath!
I bought it for 2,700 with the header panel and fender, let the rebuild begin!
