Went to Home Depot last night to get some lumber to repair our chimney.. was pleased at how "easy" it was to drive around in the parking lot and then actually park the Excursion. My "new to me" F350 has a MUCH longer wheel base (can't imagine how folks drive a Crew-Cab all day/every day, its like having a permanent trailer on the back swinging wide for every corner...

Long bed Super Cabs are the same way.

Going from my truck to my wife's Excursion the maneuvering is much much easier, especially because my truck rolls on 37's.

Hell I went from a Ex to a CCLB. That's a bit to get use to. Especially with the 7.3 crappy stock PS pump, and bigger tires. Slow speed turns r not so easy sometimes.

Yeah! The guys over at Full Force tell me I'll get well over 500 hp with the mods I selected. What else do I need to ask for?

That sounds great for staying above slightly mild and for a daily driver. You could add some polished up and down pipes for looks.

FYI guys, 2 weeks is about 5 days too long for a vacation. I'm SO ready to be home!

Flying out of Chicago on Saturday night.

Put 2,250 miles on the rental Explorer so far...driving in downtown Chicago sucked.

Look at the bright side, there are plenty of other areas of Chicago that are a bit more dangerous to drive in!

Russ, in my situation I feel that 2 weeks is about 2 weeks too short for a vacation! But I'm old and every vacation these days is just a dry run practice for retirement!
Driving in ANY big city sucks! DC and Boston are the worst that I've had the displeasure of experiencing.

I picked them up at spring shop called Husky Spring for $9.30 each. I see that Rock Auto carries them for around $7. The part number is: UA167S.
It's worth the price because the old U-bolts can be cut off and thrown away instead of struggling with the rusty nuts here in MN. Have not installed them yet, so can't recommend them yet.

Try finding a parking spot in Boston that will fit an Excursion. parking decks are too low and outside lots won't let you in because it takes up too much space.

I know some people love weeks away from home, but I can't handle more then 7-10 days out of Alaska...seriously home sick right now. I'm a real home body and should have planned this trip a little shorter.

I'm not one for the big city driving, nor the crazy parking costs! But I don't like public transit, I like to have my freedom to move whenever I want to not on a schedule.
