What did you do to the X today?
That's the thing, idk with this rig.. This is the first time pulling heavy in the heat with it. I've only had this rig for 8-10 months. But with a Mishimoto low temp stat I thought they would be lower. Like 210 at the most. Trans temp was good, EGTs stayed good, oil was about same as water. I'm thinkin the clutch fan isn't up to par.
Friday and Saturday I was cruising 70mph up a grade max trans temp was 195° coolant topped at 206°. Got home and see the front drive shaft covered in ATF from the rear of the trans.
So, I was just cleaning out the Ex after our day-trip yesterday, when I hear this low rumble of a radial engine aircraft flying my direction. Well, I am a bit of a plane/helicopter nut, so I had to stop and see what was coming my direction.
All of a sudden a tear in the fabric of time must have occurred, because appearing over the trees is a B-24 Liberator! I was so stunned (I don't think I have ever seen one flying before) I just stood there and watched. Then as it disappeared from view, all I could think of was "why did I not take a picture?"
With the excitement over, I want back to cleaning out the rig. It is amazing how kids can seem to multiply the level of trash in the back seats...

Yeah, as good as that Hensley is, 80 MPH towing seems a little fast. If you have ST tires on the TT they are most likely speed rated to only 65 MPH.
I will admit to towing up to 72/73 MPH when conditions are good but I also have a TPMS to keep constant tabs on (all 8) tire temps and pressures. On hot days I keep down closer to that 65 rating.

Anyways, I tore into it tonight. I'll post pics after a wile. Think part of the issue was the tstat. Witch was spankin new. I boiled it and two others I had, and the coldest stat opened last and the hottest first. Lmao. Anyways. I'm putting tone in with factory rating and made in Germany.

Travel trailer was left at the property last time we went as I spent half of the month of June in Canada or on a plane. Didn't have time to use it so saved some fuel by leaving it after Memorial Day. Coming home through the hills of KY and southern Ohio we ran 60 ish for most of the drive. I have hit 75 or so with the TT on the highway but never for more than a few seconds to get around a slow moving car or semi.
Still working on the HD rims, another time thing but they are stripped and slowly getting polished. Need to find tires next.
Anyone ever gone out to Glacier NP? Really wanting to get out there with the kids in the next few years.
I posted pictures from the fishing trip. Here are some from Whistler.
This picture means it's related.
Really can't wait to take the family to Whistler and the surrounding area. It may be the most beautiful place I've ever seen in person.
Got under mine tonight, dropping the rear two piece shaft off in the morning for U-Joints and a carrier bearing. Also noticed I need the newer Radiator with transmission cooler. Good thing my tax return just hit, wa thinking 6.0 cooler but will have to go Radiator.
Edit: Suppose I should add that I ordered a Livewire and Doug Thorley headers.

I just did my 4th of July thing up north. Man shooting cars off a cliff and bowling ***** out of a canon, or zip lining, of jumping cars around a dirt track...well you get the idea!
The F-150 pulls soooo nice, and more power then one needs.
The absolute best new!!! the sign is going on Alaska's very first Krispy Kreme! I CANT WAIT!

Boiled some thermostats to see when they opened, and see how they sealed up the bypass in the pump. Funny, there's three different stats, one is a 203*, than stock 192*, and low temp, 189*. The 203 started to open first, than the stock, and the Mishimoto never did open all the way. I shut it down at 200* water temp.
Mishimoto top, 203* is bottom left, and 192* is bottom right.
203* didn't seal up all the way.
The stocker sealed up nice.
And the factory clutch fan showed signs of leaking...
So it's all back together, new pump, lower hose, temp guage, and fan clutch. Had it up to temp and filled with coolant. Tonight after work I'll hook to the camper n give it a test!
