I did, but the old tires were so close to the wheel wells, that the extra 1/4 inch from the mud flap would have rubbed when turning.

So I replaced the 170 in my Comet because it had a massive rear main leak, an exhaust mani leak, and a slight rod knock.
I replaced it with the (what should have been a 200) 170 out of my 68 mustang. While it was out I tore it down and replaced all the seals and gaskets to make sure she don't leak. Finally got it running and the sob leaks oil from the rear main seal!
Motor out on the stand upside down, main seal done perfectly to the book and she leaks?
Gonna use the X to haul it to the scrap yard soon.
