What did you do to the X today?
These are the ones I got, and then they were 'modified' for Oracle LED Halo's to be put in.

If they were strait cut gears possibly but because they are helical they WILL have problems. But don't let me save you the trouble.

Wasn't to the EX but to my son's Ford Escape but gave me a moment to reflect on working on the EX vs a smaller vehicle. Lessons I learned...
1. Parts are WAY smaller - pic below - it's a baby power steering pump.
2. They put the freaking engine in side ways.
3. I will take hauling a 10 pound pump up above my head and holding it with one foot to install, over having to remove the engine mount, engine isolator, 2 brackets and loosen the coolant tank and jack the engine up, just to see or get to a bolt on the power steering pump - ANY DAY.
Another one of those days where your adult offspring come in from college and say "hey mom my cars making a funny sound" and "jerking when it turns", go start it and takes about 10 seconds and 10 feet to realize it's not a suspension problem it's a power steering problem. That's what they do with 1 tablespoon of fluid in the reservoir and 2 quarts caked on the undercarriage.
Got to love kids!

cleaned and oiled the rear hatch mechanism. I got the actuator to work so it locks/unlocks but the key isn't working at all. I took the tumbler out and oiled/blew it out and worked it over for about 30min and still nothing. I'm starting to wonder if it's even the right one for my key. So the next question is if i wanted to replace it how do i go about getting a tumbler for the hatch that matches my keys?.....well at least for now i can finally lock my rear hatch when i drive to the city.
I unhooked the camper, and got the Ex ready to drive to work tomorrow.
I also ripped into the front axle on the Wagoneer. Got some 3.73s installed, and a Power Lock in the front axle. Have to replace axle shaft u joints, and spindle bearings than can put everything back together up there. Than move onto the rear axle hopefully. Going to clean up them gears to see how bad they look. Not going to use new bearings at this time cuz might have to do it over.... I have a Spartan locker showing up tomorrow for that, so I'll have a locked rear axle, a LS front, change from 3.08s to 3.73s and a new t case chain. Just put $300 more into it than I paid for it! Should be good to go now...

Keep us updated on how it holds up. How many miles do you put on the wagoneer usually? I hope you have good luck with it.
Christina, your situation is something I kind of look forward to. I want my kids to know dad is available when they need some help. My 21 year old nephew comes to me for help with his '05 6.0 instead of his dad, which is weird since his dad is a pretty good shadetree.
It's not that weird.
He's friends with his uncle and a son to his Dad. A dumb question asked of his uncle gets a particular type of response. That same question to his Dad may not get a pleasant response, even if it's only his perception.
