If I'm reading the data tag correctly, the date code is October 23. With the big unit number it has, one wouldn't think it would mean 1950, but that's a reeealy late date for 1951 model year production.
the grill is definately silver.

Josh,

That's the correct hood side trim for a 51 standard cab. I still need to get the 52 F6 Deluxe trim out for you. Haven't forgot.

Sigh, yep they're getting pretty bad anymore!

Now that I look a the bottom picture is does look more silver - which was my first guess. So the grille has either been painted or replaced since Agrent Grills on 51s were only on Extra Cabs and early in the production run.

upper fenders are actually in good shape. for the most part it is all in good shape. only damage seems to be what you see in the frontal pics.

If only I was a little bit closer! maybe it's time for a road trip to wine country
We used to go out through Sonoma and headlsburg (sometimes Napa) almost yearly but it gets to dang expensive

Is there rust through along the bottom where the running boards meet up? keep me in mind on these fenders or if you do end up selling the truck to be parted out, maybe pass my name and number along? 801-694-8826

thanks

Josh
