I did replace all the o-rings, but I removed the fuel water separtor to get to the HPOP. Was that a bad move it a 2000 model?

Removing the fuel bowl is fine. Cycle the key a few times and make sure you've got fuel at the bowl and you should be good. Check the HPOP reservoir and smoke and get back to us.

Did you make sure that the tiny little brown plastic ball was in the correct location? I know a guy who just rebuilt his HPOP and Fuel bowl and that happened. Let's just say that I can remove a HPOP (if the truck is cool) in roughly 10-12 minutes.

Did you pull the "non-serviceable" plug out of the pump? The ball may have came out and moved through the pump and gotten stuck in th IPR. I recently just went through all of this so it's really fresh in my mind.

Would it have fallen down in there? And if so, if I take it back apart, how do I prevent that from happening again?

Be more careful than I was, I got lucky though and mine actually rolled out and disappeared nito the garage. Bob at Dieselorings.com was a major help and sent me a new little plastic ball. But without the ball, the pump will not generate enough pressure to start and you end up cranking and cranking, possibly overheating your starter and drawing the batteries down.

ok guys got a new problem put everything back together the 2nd time hit the key and it ran like a champ, let it idle in drive way for 15-20 minutes no issues. Took it out for the test drive while going from 2nd to 3rd gear it just shut down for no reason... popped the hood only to find oil every where, blew one of the oil lines right out of the HPOP. After futher inspection I noticed the line took the threads of the HPOP with it!!! not good... so right away Im thinking the HPOP is screwed....Any ideas? If the HPOP is junked where can I get? Thanks for the help on putting the HPOP back together.

If you blew the threads out of the pump then I'd say Joey at Terminator Engineering or Bob at Dieselsite for a new HPOP.
